For this first post on the blog, I wanted to share a video by one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman, who recently shared at a commencement for the University of the Arts about Making Good Art. It fuses two of my passions, art and literature, and though this blog will focus more on the former, the latter is so much a part of my life that I guarantee it will bleed through. And of course the video's situation, at a commencement, is apropos for the situation of this entry, a commencement in and of itself.
This video is my everyday resolution and inspiration: Make Good Art.

When things get tough, this is what you should do: Make good art. I'm serious. Husband runs off with a politician -- make good art. Leg crushed and then eaten by a mutated boa constrictor -- make good art. IRS on your trail -- make good art. Cat exploded -- make good art. Someone on the Internet thinks what you're doing is stupid or evil or it's all been done before -- make good art.
